God is Moving Among the People
These stories below are retold to us from our people working with Canada Asia Network. They give us a glimpse into what our ministry does.

“Praise and thanks in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. This month, I was more active on WhatsApp under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. During this time, I was in daily contact with more than 20 people, and some of them had questions, indicating that they were interested in learning more about Jesus Christ and receiving salvation. This month, I sent the Bible link to 16 people, and out of them, 3 gave a positive response, saying that they had downloaded the Bible and would begin reading it. I am in touch with them and encouraging them to start studying the Bible. Undoubtedly, even in these difficult circumstances, God is at work and is touching the hearts of those He has chosen. One of them is Zia Rahmani (pseudonym).”
- Zia Rahmani (pseudonym)is 32 years old and has three children. He used to work as a general internal medicine doctor in Kabul. Zia Rahmani came to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ five years ago, but during this time, he has not had the opportunity to be discipled. A year ago, he and his family left Afghanistan and are now living in an African country. Where they live, he attends church every Sunday, but because of the language barrier, he is interested in joining the discipleship classes of the Afghan house church network so he can grow in his faith. I’ve been in touch with him, prayed for him, and encouraged him to set aside daily time for prayer and Bible study. More time is needed to get to know him better, and then I will introduce and include him in the discipleship classes.
- Another is Farhad Moradi (pseudonym), another believing brother I was in contact with this month. Farhad is originally from Iran and is currently living alone in the city of Afyonkarahisar, Turkey. Farhad is battling leukemia and has a skin disease. He has been a believer for six years and, according to him, has been following the Good News with us through Facebook for a long time. Saeed asked us to pray that God would heal him. My husband and I prayed for Farhad every day for a week, asking the Lord Jesus Christ to lay His healing hand on him, as only God is the healer. I remain in contact with Saeed, and he is interested in serving and sharing the Gospel with Afghans.
- Another is Omid Sadeqi (pseudonym), who is 53 years old and a doctor. He lives in Kabul, and we’ve been in contact for several months now. At first, Omid did not believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and was very anxious and restless. I shared the Gospel with him and prayed for him. After a few months of answering his questions and praying for him, God finally touched his heart. Now, Omid is a believer and studies the Bible. He shares his questions with me on WhatsApp. His recent questions were about Luke chapter 21, verses 5–6, and about the Catholic denomination, which I answered for him.
“These are just some of the testimonies showing that God is working among Afghans. These testimonies encourage us even more to continue serving the Lord, despite the difficult situation in Afghanistan.”

“For a long time, I felt that God wanted to use me for the glory of His name and to share the Good News with those around me. Because of that, I kept this matter in my prayers and asked God to use me.
“This month, I had a phone call with one of my friends that lasted about two hours. At first, I listened with empathy to her life and problems so she could feel comforted. Then, I slowly brought the topic to Islam and referenced a few verses from the Quran, such as:
Surah An-Nisa 4:34, which allows Muslim men to beat their wives,
Surah An-Nisa 4:24, which talks about polygamy and temporary marriages (mut’ah), and states that captured married women are lawful for Muslim men—giving justification for sexual abuse,
Surah Al-Baqarah 2:223, which compares women to a field and instructs men to enter it as they please, referring to
childbearing,
Surah At-Tawbah 9:111, which speaks about Muslims who kill and are killed in the way of Allah and are promised Paradise—something I pointed out as being used by groups like the Taliban and suicide bombers.
“My friend, a 29-year-old woman, was very surprised. She said she had never read the Quran in her native language and never imagined there were such verses in it. When I saw that she started doubting Islam and was shocked by its true image, I suggested she read the Bible and sent her a link to download it. The next day, I followed up to see whether she had downloaded it, and she told me she had.”
“Another friend of mine a 39-year-old single mother of two living in Sweden, has many problems with her children. When she reached out and we spoke, I deeply felt that she needed the salvation and miracle of Jesus Christ. Knowing that she had no trust in Islam, I immediately shared the Gospel with her. I told her about the peace and good feeling I had and how God filled my heart with something that I believed she needed. I told her that God can save her. However, she resisted and said she doesn’t believe in any religion, that there is only one God, and that Islam and Christianity don’t make sense to her. I sent her some excerpts from the book More Than a Carpenter and encouraged her to read an article I had written. I also sent her a link to the Bible and some verses and tried to call her several times. But she is still resisting. I am continuing to pray that Jesus will touch her heart.”
